This question compares open and closed queueing systems. Use the Penny Fab simulation (Penny Fab_CW.mox) in the Examples/Models and Methods folder. Simulate the system with the WIP set to 8 with 10 runs of 1000 minutes each. Observe the production rate. Change the simulation to have a deterministic release mechanism with an equivalent production rate. Compare the CONWIP release policy to the deterministic in terms of cycle time and average WIP.
