 - Constructing a Predefined Model

To create a predefined model, select the Model option from the menu. The model dialog as illustrated below appears, ready to accept data. The dialog has fields for a model name and up to three parameters. Buttons control the type of model to be generated, either Markov Chain or Markov Process. The two model types are similar except that the Markov Chain generates transition probabilities, while the Markov Process generates transition rates.

Buttons in the Problem Type frame, determine the type of problem to be constructed. The four options listed are currently available. Click on the links to the left for an illustration of creating the Markov Chain model for a Finite Queue model or the Markov Process model when there are Dedicated Queues.
